PM- good evening Jock MILLY, welcome to POLICEEMEDIA Kdinterviews,
Jock - it an honour.
PM- How was your day
Jock- My day was good. Thanks.
PM- so going straight can you tell us more of your self like a brief biography??
Jock - First off, I am Jock Abubakar, an indigene of Kaduna State, a graduate of English Studies from KASU, and a recording artist as well as a songwriter. I was born and bred in Kaduna.
PM- so what first got you into the entertainment industry? Into rap and music??
Jock - Rap as an art form first attracted me to music, after which I later switched to singing. Rap for me then was a beautiful medium for aesthetic expression. I love words, and Rap, which is basically poetry, offered me an opportunity to use them beyond conversational circumference. And as for the entertainment aspect of it, that came with my switch from Rapping to singing, as I eventually saw music as a potential career, therefore decided to approach it as a business.
PM- So your rap talent attracted you in to the music ??
Jock- absolutely
PM- So going how many tracks have you worked on so far,??
Jock - A lot. I can't even keep count. I started music long before the social media blew. And even though I had a couple of records in this era, which I had a couple of those online as well, I had to bring them down however. And that was after deciding to rebrand myself as an artist, because I wasn't going by Jock Milly back then. And my view about what music should be about changed. And that of course changed everything, including my philosophy about just dishing out music online without a proper script to direct its promotion and monetization process. However, of recent memory, I dropped an acapella "You Can Be There" which was a compensation for the birthday gift I promised my fans on my birthday as the originally intended record was not ready then. Plus, I was featured on "Some More", by Djmoore. And I have been working on my own special brand of music which hopefully would be hitting the public soon.

PM- To my next big question, What can you say about music collaboration in building an artist?
Jock - Collaboration in music is a great part of growing a fan base because both acts get to tap into each other's fan base. It's a healthy step in music.
PM- so who would you like to collaborate with in any of your next project??
Jock - I'd rather keep it on a low since I am yet to reach out to any of the prospective act.I mean it's not official yet.
PM-What are your views for KADUNA Music Industry ?, How do you dream to take them to the next level?
Jock - I think it's simple, the artist, the show promoters, the bloggers, the producers, the event planners, the sound engineers and so forth, need to respect each other and celebrate the efforts of one another. That way, the fans and the outsiders would start to look at the industry with value. Because to be very honest, 95% of the fans and investors think Kaduna Entertainment Industry is child's play. And I don't mean that with any form of disrespect intended.
PM- good one sir
Jock - it's a pleasure
PM - coming to your performance which is one funny thing in all artiste lives, have you ever faced performance anxiety?
Jock- Yes. Though I am not a gospel act, but back then in ABU when I was running a diploma course in Civil Law, I was to minister at the Cathedral in Kongo. Minutes before I was to be called on stage I tried reciting my lines in my head but couldn't remember the first line. I had to rush back to the hostel to check my book of rhymes, and the moment I got back to the Cathedral, I tried reciting it again and lo and behold I forgot same line again. And boom! I was called upon. Cut long story short, besides the fact that the keyboardist played trash, which nobody noticed but me, I gave a great performance that was talked about for a couple of days. So to answer your question, yes, stage fright is real like HIV & AIDS...lol
PM - VERY FUNNY SIR...
PM- less I forget, last two month or thereabouts a rap battle saga came up, your reaction to the rap battle was surprising.
Can you tell us why you turnedit it down despite the Money was available??
Jock- The money put up was not for the reply I demanded for. I asked for 50k to be put before I'll reply the diss and it wasn't. The 50k put up was in response to a subsequent post I made about taking out any rapper in Kd. Which I didn't even make a demand on how much I would have done that for, however I still accepted, until when they started calling the shots on when, where, and how the battle would go down. And that is after insisting that I am also putting up 50k, making it an official bet, which now gives me a right to state my own terms, which I was of course clearly denied. But that is a thing of the past. I've got important projects in front of me.
PM- wow...
PM- So before you go what can you say to your fam and to other artists ??
Jock - To the fans, respect the artists and the growing Industry and outsiders will respect us too. And to the artists, respect yourselves and the fans would respect you too. Thanks.
PM - thank you very much for your time sir I really appreciate, My name is Polycarp Onusulu the CEO POLICEEMEDIA
