"Please send me to Prison"- 24 years old Man begs court to send him to Prison.
A 24-year man has pleaded the court in Akure, Ondo state capital, to punish him to prison.
Scraper 24 years old, jummy Wasiu told the trial judge, sitting in the OK-Eda, that he would be happy if the court could punish to prison.
court, presided over by Judge O.R. Yakubu, consequently, sentenced to two years imprisonment without the option of a fine.
Wasiu was charged by police on two counts of robbery and theft. Prosecutors said that the convict foul on October 21, 2019 around 02:00 in the Federal Housing Estate, Shagari Village, Zone V, Akure.
He is said to have stolen solar panels, batteries and cables, worth N250,000.
Convict, who pleaded guilty to the charge, there must be a lawyer to defend him. He could not get a lawyer. No money.
The police prosecutor, Mr. Augsutine Orihenimen, told the court that convicted previously told police investigating (IPO), that she will not mind jail.
Orihenimen say, since Wasiu has admitted committing the offense, the court must punish him accordingly.
When the court asked him if he would go to jail, he answered "Yes."
Since the defendant pled guilty to the charges leveled against him, the court held that the convicts actually committed the offense and sentenced accordingly.
